Author: Mitchell Brandon Anderson

William Alexander was born on 13 August 1729 in Edinburgh, Scotland.1,2

He lived in France for several years before emigrating to America during the Revolutionary War. He served as a private in Virginia. He lived near Richmond, Virginia, then moved to Kentucky around 1811.2

William’s wife’s name is not known, but the following children are mentioned in his estate:3

  • John R.
  • Andrew
  • Charles
  • Apolline
  • Robert4

The Patriot died on 10 January 1819 in Woodford County, Kentucky.1,2 He is buried in the Frankfort Cemetery in Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky.5
