The oldest part of the Byfield Parish Cemetery is in Newbury on the north side of Elm Street at the Georgetown border. It is bounded by a dry laid stone wall. Within the cemetery are stones of marble and slate and a couple of obelisks. There is a substantial tree cover throughout the burial ground. A newer section is across the street. The inactive part of the cemetery is not well maintained.
