Comments:

In Oct 1778, David Smith deeded 10 acres of his land to the trustees (Armel Fincher, John Clark, Ralph Hunt, and John Neaderman) appointed by the Quakers.

Prominent names buried there are of the GIST family. Also said to be buried there is David SMITH, son of William Smith of Bucks county PA, brother of Ralph Smith of Spartanburg, and 2nd husband of Ann Musgrove, widow of Edward Musgrove. His daughter was Margaret Smith Edmundson Duncan Parham, buried at Bush River Burial Ground in Newberry SC. Another daughter was Hannah Smith who married Benjamin Evans. David Smith, Jr. is buried there in a marked grave.

There is detailed info in "The Quaker Smiths and the Padgett's Creek Meeting House Cemetery at Sedalia," by Robert Stevens and Linda Crissinger (Chester Dist Gen Soc, Dec 1994, Vol 18, No 4.)
